Just wondering if anyone has had any big problems with Ford not honoring a warranty because of mods sone to their X. I just took my X to Ford because the O/D light was blinking at me. They took it and other than the fact that they had only one guy to work on transmissions and he just broke his foot the day before and would be out for a few weeks, they replaced the whole transmission, front to back, torque converter, everything. Not once did they say anything about the mods I had done. They even offered me a rental car for free. Of course, this all happened at 38,000 miles (kinda soon if you ask me), so I was glad to have purchased the extended warranty. Of course I did notice that the paperwork for the warranty does say specifically that a supercharger/turbocharger will immediately void the warranty. Fair enough I guess. So now here ai am with an Explorer with 38,000 miles and a brand new transmission, and it cost me nothing.

Must be nice! My local Ford dealers (I have two) are really weird about what they'll fix and what they won't.....They did $700 worth of work to my engine (sorry I can't remember all the details off hand, but they had my X for 3 damn days and i got to see the engine all over the floor-talk about a heart attack!)

But the kick in the ass is that i thought Ford has a 5 year unlimited warranty on rust bubbles in the paint....My factory step bars are rusted as all hell and Ford won't repaint them cuz they say I altered the paint and voided the warranty. I got twin platinum racing stripes painted on the grille, hood, moonvisor, and rear hatch to match the platinum bumpers and wheel lip mouldings...ddin't do jack to the step bars! GRRRRRRR:mad:
