I replaced my drivers side manifold with a Dormans unit on my 97 5.0 X the day I bought it... Well, the fugger still leaked and the weld quality really sucked... So a couple weeks later I warrantied out the manifold and got a new one... The gasket was not leaking and all bolts were tight... so it had to be a weld quality issue... seeing these things are welded together everywhere! I put the new one on, and the ticking went away by about 80%, but there was still some there. I also have an EVAP smoke machine that I use to find exhaust leaks... and it smokes no where... Which really blows my mind. I'm not getting the torque master headers... too expensive for my wifes daily driver... and just not needed. I did a 40 series Flow with the two rear cats removed... Also did my own K&N CAI with a MAF adapter with a K&N cone filter (about 50 bucks into it, instead of 200 for a K&N kit haha)... and I can still hear this damn leak.

Anyone else have this problem?

Nick

you alway have the sound of a leak but thats cuz the stock ones got pinches and terrible bends in them so they sound horrible like they have a leak but dont i had that problem till i got the torgue monster headers then i ran both pipes into a dual in flow master and dual out and boy i felt the torgue diffrents and and make alot hondas angry with there horse fart in can mufflers haha and no leak sound any more in the front

I've been in many 5 liter explorers and had one previously that never made any leaking sounds.

what years where they cuz both mine and my friends had the same problem as yours and mines a 96 and his is a 97 but neither them had a exhuast leak then my brothers 1999 dosnt have that sound and does not make sense

Previous one was a '00 Mountaineer... One friend has a 97 like mine, but 2WD and the other is a 99.

That's just wrong.

You could help us all out here by using some punctuation here and there...

I don't buy anything with the name Dorman on it. It's all junk and mostly China made to boot.
