Yea it's leather wrapped, but I would just prefer the look of a custom interior, but I would also like to keep my cruise controls just not on the steering wheel
Well, I ordered a late model lincoln town car steering wheel for my '00. The wheel is the same size and the air is also the same size. However the hub assembly is different (the rod is different shape), therefore, it did not work. I had to return it. It was the leather/wood trim. I wish it would of work
MO_GUY, if you or someone you know is any good with electronics you should be able to wire in new switches for the CC in the dash or where ever you want. A friend of mine moved his controls in this manner. Then you'd have more options for your steering wheel choice. BTW, did you decide to go street instead of off road? You've had a lot of threads on large wheels and such lately.
You will ALL be sorry when you changed your steering wheel with the factory air bag and you get into a serious accident where you think an air bag would have saved your life or, worst, a loved one!
I rewired my cruse-control and placed them in my custom center counsel. I too am looking for a new steering wheel. My air-bag previously deployed and a new one is very costly (I'm cheap). For now I fiber-glassed a cover where the bag sat previously and painted it, then I was thinking of putting a LCD in there, but I would rather have a custom wheel.
If you find a nice one, let me know. I'll do the same. Oh yea, I found a place online that will make one custom for you. All you gotta do is send them a blue-print. Kinda expensive though. Just my 2 cents.
