I just discovered that Premier is Pioneer's better stuff and there is an authorized dealer up the street. Does anyone have any experience w/Premier equipment, specifically the HU? I'm embarking on the overdue audio upgrade starting w/the HU, then speakers, amp & then sub.

I have the premier 900 r, which is like pioneers top of the line, aside from the tv screen units. I also have the premier 6 disc changer. I love the head unit, and I would definatly reccomend it if you have the cash that is, but its well worth it.

I've got the 700. It's been great. No problems with it so far. It's got a cool screen, flip-down detachable face, and 3 sets of pre-outs (front/rear/subs).

i am currently using the 8600r with 2 12 disc changers and i love it!! ive been using pioneer HU's for years and ive been more than happy with them. i like the older stuff alot better though, 1998 and older. the current models seem to be more for looks. my only complaint was the excess in the screen and the little buttons, but great products indeed.

Ya go with the DEH-P900R. I've ran this deck for almost a year now. The only complaint is it overheating. It will run all out for about 3-4 hours then shut down because of heat, but that is one CD on Tuner it will run all day long.

hmm, maybe somethings messed up with yours. I have never had a problem on my 900 R. The only problem i have is that there is SOOOO much you can do with it, the manual is like 100 pages, it has so many features, but well worth the money. Plus it has 3 5 volt preouts, so if your planning on adding extra speakers, its a great unit to have.

I was thinking the Premier 520 would be just fine as opposed to the 720 which is more bucks for some screen saving dolphins. Besides the El Organic screen it appears they are the same unit. Which leads me to where to buy it - authorized dealer up the street or off the net for about $75 bucks less? What is everyone's opinion on buying electronics off the net? (This won't be from Crutchfield.) Or is the old-fashioned store-front a better way to go? I plan on installing it myself - you just use duct tape, right? - so price & service are paramount. Thanks in advance for any more input.
