Here's a couple pictures of mine, although my subs are not shallow mount.
They have about 3/16 depth clearance behind the magnet.
They are JL Audio 10W1v2-4.
I wanted to put W3's in the box, but they require a whole bunch more mounting depth.
The amp is a JL Audio 500.1.
The subs are wired to the amp for a 2 ohm load.
I got the box this spring from Interscope8.
The grill mount rings on the subs stick out past the surround foam itself, so I have pretty good indentations in the seatbacks from that, but the surround foams themselves don't touch the seat backs.
Nice. Interscope's box was actually the one I had found. I was thinking about a shallow mount fosgate 10". I'm curious if two will be too much boom? I'm more of a sound quality guy and just want some low end punch.
But then I keep kicking around the idea of an isobaric clamshell under the seats with plexi and blue neon. I just don't think it is practical with two kids kicking and muddying it up, plus I'd like to keep the ability to lay down the seats.
I'm a sound quality person also.
You have to start with something decent, but there's alot to be had in where the low pass filter is set, properly setting the gain on the amp, etc.
I'm pretty much pleased with how mine sound, although I need to dynamat the whole sheet-metal area behind the the sub box.
BTW, I have a couple of shallow-mount Fosgate 10's in decent shape I don't need.
I don't want to run afoul of the rules of this forum, so if you are interested, PM me.
I don't have the specs, other than it is supposed to be about 1 cubic foot internal volume. I can get you measurements if you want with a tape measure, but that will only be close.
I remember reading on the ST site where someone had built one from scratch, but I couldn't find the thread it was in.
If you searched on here you didnt see my audio build tthread. Seadch "Scope's Audio Build Thread". I would but im on my phone. I had 2 ten shallow fosgates. Werent loud at all IMO. Better than stock but not for the work and money involved. I had mine running maxed out with a JBL amp and the excursion was to much for the the space they were in. They'd hit the seat back.
One thing I thought about doing was cutting the seat back out and making a cavity and putting 2 full size 10's in the box with disc spacers for magnet clearance.
And you will loose a lot of bass if you dont sound dampen the contact points of the box and cab. I noticed when I shoved towels behind the box it all seemed louder.
I was actually thinking about cutting a hole in the back and welding a cake pan to get more depth. I haven't actually checked to see how much clearance there is between the cab and the bed.
Your woofers are on their way to my house right now, I'm hoping to sell them on eBay and make a couple dollars. No one seems to respect the Primes, all the audio forums claim they are a step above Pyle. Punches are a little better but not much from what I'm told.
They are great quality they are single magnet shallow mounts tho they arent built for lots of boom you wont find any better shallow mount than those without spending $500
