i was wondering if anyone here has ever run a full hydraulic steering setup on a SAS..
im experimenting quite a bit my baby and im thinking i can eliminate all my front end concerns with a full hydo kit..
i was wondering what some opinions were on this...
im not really worried about the whole (street legal) issues because betsy is no where near street legal but im in Texas and she is always stays tagged and inspected! (been pulled over about a dozen times "your not in trouble, i just wanted to let you know that this part is illegal" then they proceed to ask if they can look at it and inside it...)
thanks
max

Hydro steering on an SAS and its driving characteristics isn't really vehicle specific (but more suspension specific - ex: leaf vs links, etc..) so I'd just search Google and go from there.

i should have been a little more specific... im questioning the reliability of it mainly... how long do pumps last, any line tearing problems... ect..
for suspension im looking to eliminate bump steer concers with the triangulated 4 link

From the pump's perspective, a full hydro steering will look pretty much the same as stock steering since line pressure is capped or regulated by the pump (internally at the flow piston). The only difference is volume/displacement of the actuator (be it a gear box or a hydraulic cylinder) - but volume difference doesnt really put any added stresses on the pump. So it should last pretty much the same as the stock configuration steering system with the gear box.

just what i needed to know..
thank you sir.
