Anyone in (or near) MD???

Hey, hon!

Just wanted to know if there are any Maryland Explorer clubs about...Lord knows I thought I was the only one on the East Coast with a mod X 'till I found this site, lol! If anyone has any info, please share-I'm having trouble finding places to go off roading legally 'round here.

There aren't too many places in Maryland. There are some out in West Va and in Va. There are some down by the Luray Caverns I believe.

Hey Lindsy, welcome to the site.

There are quite a few Explorers in Maryland, but not many. And even far less places to go wheel. Like Steve said, your best bet is to check out Virginia and West Virginia and even Penn. One of our other moderators from Colorado, Matt Adams, is in Herdon, VA for the week. Unfortunately I am in Central VA now and can't make it to see him.

Also, if you need stuff for your truck (new, used, aftermarket), check out www.bigmountain.net They are a young company in Ellicott City specializing in Explorer and 1966-1977 Bronco parts. Still building their site though. I know them personally and they are great guys. You can check out John Dency's Explorer (founder of Big Mountain) on the main page with the featured Explorers.

Speaking of ECX, John. I have to get on the ball with that. I'd really would like to get involved and join you all. Things have just been hectic for me! Hopefully I can make it out for run at some point!

i go to a place called Blackwood's its about an hour and a half drive from were i live here in york,
depending on were u live in maryland it might take you
a about three hours or so to get there
me and a couple of friends go about once a month,im the only one in the group with an explorer though.

if you'd like i can let you know the next time we go out.

Hey, thanks for the welcome and the info-much appreciated. Y'all are right about there not being many mod X's in Maryland- in the 18 years I've lived here I've seen maybe 2 other than mine, which is really sad. I enjoy off roading but am secretly scared to break off something expensive, although I imagine you guys will beat that fear outta me on a trail Speaking of guys, I'm noticing that there aren't too many gals on this site, which is also pretty sad...oh well, I guess I'm just special , lol.

Not many places in MD, but I hear Anne Arundel County is a good place to go, not sure how legal your wheeling would be, but it seems as if if the law doesn't really mind or do anything about it.

Yeah, sorry I missed your earlier comments John. I've been meaning to get in on ECX, but I keep dropping the ball. Unfortunately, I keep myself too busy with things. Let me know what you need as far as signing up. I am very interested and I will hopefully find some time to go out on an ECX run. I'm actually attending school just outside of Farmville, VA right now, so I am a lot closer to you than I would normally be. Let me know bud.
