i have a power and ground wire coming from the diode next to the battery, they run into the firewall on the driver side, and have a fuse, i dont know what they are for, and when i disconnected them to see if they were needed, the truck would have power, but wouldnt even try to start, any idea what they are for?

Any chances we could get a picture?

The diodes in the Power Distribution Box? If so, The one in position 13 feeds the ABS relay, the one in 14 feeds the PCM. I'm guessing you pulled 14. I am not entirely sure what they are for. There are diodes that limit voltage, and since these are feeding power to the computers, that might be the deal. I may get around to looking one up in a little bit.

i can get a picture tomorrow, but it is not in the box, it is bolted to the thing next to the battery.

think thats the starter hot wire.

its just a weird connector. should be the starter ignition crank.

could be, the reason i thought it wasnt, was because it isnt a factory wire, it was like that from the previous owner

i know ford did use on on alot of applications a single wire connector, that looks like an inline glass fuse holder and its for the starter. its one end squeeze two tabs... if you post a pic, would help more.
