I'm looking for one for my Ex. I have a chrome one that I could trade. I found one on Ebay but it's as much as a billet, which I've decided against...Let me know if you know where I can find one for relatively cheap or if you have one you're willing to let go.

I want it to look good - and not chip in 2000 miles...

As long as you prep it correctly before paint, it will last.

I agree.
Or ship it over to good ol' JTSMITH for a little powder coat action.
Im sure he will hook you up.

I have very little faith in my spray paint abilities. Especially with the vertical/horizontal lines of the back parts of the grill...I don't have the patience for proper prep.

And if I'm having to ship it for powder coat, I"m sure I can find a stock black one for the same price or less...

I don't believe that ANY of the 3rd gens come with a black grille. Every X I've seen has the chrome grille. A black one will have to be custom... either paint or powdercoat (jtsmith has a thread in the body forum about his powdercoating... the pictures he's posted look fantastic).

my suggestion is krylon fusion spraypaint for plastics... i sprayed my entire trim with it all the way around and havent had any issues in the 2 months its been done... it sticks to plastic with no prep needed... 5 dollars per can

lol, they do. they also have a black with chrome trim.
and, i am interested as well.. i don't want to spray mine because i would like the option between both.. i think they run 80 bucks from the factory.

+1, not all of them are chrome. I agree with Big apple, go with his idea
