Anyone make their own fog light assembly?

Now that I know the only real way to replace the lens on a 98 X is by buying a whole new fog light assembly, has anyone modified theirs? I know one option is going to a salvage yard but I would rather go knew (if I can). I have heard that it is very difficult to put your own fog lights on without them bouncing up and down a lot, while driving. Has anyone put their own fog lights on the truck and made/used the old assembly?

I put yellow window film over my stock fogs but i wanna get them brighter the bulbs
