I like Rockford Fosgate. I am running 2 12" subs and an amp from them and it sounds great.

Most likely. I bought a set of kicker speakers for 59.99 on Crutchfield about a month ago. I went to order another set for the rear and they were discontinued. They were originally close to 200 dollars, so I got a damn good deal. They were also a set that came with a crossover and tweeters.

If you can, get speakers with tweeters/crossovers, you won't be disappointed.

I ordered two pair of Kickers 6x8 from crutchfield about 2 months ago. they where org. $130 and I got them for $64.99.

Yeah, got to love closeouts. Most likely the same speakers will come out again, except theyll be the New version which means different colors. just like the kicker cvrs normally go on sale for 2 for 1 around november

for the explorer and a expedition. my neighbor has been paying me to set up his system andwe have everything but speakers so im gonna get these. we spent enough money so far so speakers were kinda on the backburner until now. so thanks for posting these up.

yeah it is kinda fun...except when his girl hears it and then she starts yelling at us, but its all good cause i installed sepparate switches and remote bass control so he can turn everything on and off depending on whatmood shes in.... she hates bass while he loves it.

at the same time i was able to get my truck some more sound but not much. blew my speakers today so this is a big plus now

Dang, great deal and perfect timing. I'm installing a new system right now and didn't have speakers yet and need some. It's Rockford subs and amps to boot. Anyone now how good Rockford speakers are compared to Pioneer 6x8s? That's what I'm familiar with.

from personal experience fosgates are excellent when powered with an amp. i often found that pioneers were over rated for what they are. but then again i like both brands. and since these are only 30 bucks, ill go with these

Those speakers cut off at the low end at a high frequency compared to most speakers that size. I usually wouldn't get them because of that but in this case since it's going in a system with a sub woofer it doesn't matter.

Now I have a question. Does anyone know where I can get wiring harnesses for the door speakers? I don't really want to cut into the factory adapter since I will be putting the stock system back if I ever have to sell mine for any reason. I know crutchfield has them, but it would be expensive buying them on their own.

Bestbuy, Circuit City or any place that installs car stereos. Another option is to make your own. Just get tab connectors that match the size of the prongs in the factory harness and run them to the speaker with tab connectors that fit the prongs on the speakers.
