I went to the local FourWheelParts store, showed them the hub.
They said, "HA! NO WARRANTY!".
I said, call warn. They did, said "sorry, your right." Got RMA, gave them the old hubs. they gave me a new one right there, and warn sent them a new one.
I've done the same thing as T-Davis, about 7 times. Just keep your reciept. The offroad shop I purchased mine from gave me a lot of crap, so Warn advised me to go to NAPA and they were great to work with.
Are they just playing dumb because its a hassle for them to return a lousy hub to Warn or are they not told of mfg's warranty policy's? I say they are playing dumb...it's crap like that is the reason why I don't do business with them anymore.
I'll tell you how I make out... I'm in the process right now. 4 Wheel Parts told me the warentee was only for the premium hubs but I told them I'd spoken with Warn and the guy said to tell them to call him directly if they gave me any trouble... so as of now I am waiting for new hubs that I bought from them and will be returning the old ones for a refund.
I got my new hubs! I went to 4WPW, but they were backordered til mid January. So I went to NAPA. They had some in stock, but they were unaware of the policy they have with Warn, and wanted me to pay the full price up front, then be reimbursed when they get reimbursed from Warn. I told them to call Warn and get the story. Warn's policy is a direct over the counter swap with no deposit. Warn rules! If only they would start making our hubs out of a stronger casing!
