It's leaf springs front and coils in the rear with 8.8 rear Dana 44 front out of a wagoneer if I remember right. I talked to him over the phone when he was building it. I don't know if he ended up doing a c notch in the rear but he was trying to avoid it because he didn't want a body lift.
I thought he was from new Mexico tho. Same black explorer unless its just a coincidence.
