anyone tried e3 plugs? tdhxlt

^ hahah I got 3 bloody knuckles and a burned wrists who calls bull poop. BTW be prepared to get flamed, Bosch=hatred on this forum. And that rubber thing can make it a PITA to get the socket off the spark plug once its in place. Use fuel line to put the spark plug in the hole and get it started.

It's not hatred as much as experience- too many people ran Bosch and had to swap them out due to drive-ability issues.

I would change the Bosch plugs out now... Search the forum if doubting. Your truck will soon start running like poop. Not a good choice for Ford engines.

Not a flame, just trying to save hassle.

I tried E3's for a week in my Tbird and hated them. Didn't run well. It really bothered me that I could not set the gap on them. (The Tbird has app. 10:1 compression and is particular about the gap). I pulled them within a week so I could take them back to O'Reilly's and get a refund. Now running the Motorcraft plugs recommended by my tuner. Runs good, idles good, great mileage.

Bothered me to not being able to set the gap, guess you do it so much it becomes a must.
Surprised O'reileys took them back, mine only gives me problems. I just avoid them at all cost, got enough auto zones, advanced, napa, and pep boys to not need em.

Guess I should save myself the doubt, the E3 plugs were picked up by the person I did the change for, so far, they are good, the truck was getting the gas milage of a caterpillar tractor, and now its doing ~20mpg again, the key point here is how fast and easy the job was, its like micro sugery to get the ones out of my pushrod 92, and the 2000 was like...all reachable with only a 6" extension and a knuckle. If they act up I will change them out again, took me 10-20 minutes first time.

As per E3 performance...the ones in the truck I put in are doing fine...but dont have alot of drive time on them, the set I put in my chrysler worked for a good while (40k?) before eventually causing some really strange acceleration issues. this I guess is the typical issue people have with these.

O'reillys here always treats me right. But I'm in there a lot. lol The kids workin there always ask me to do a burnout in the parking lot. I just grin and tell em as soon as they buy me a set of tires I'll do a burnout for them.

^ that's the difference! Only old guys work on this one.

if i needed a part and o'reillys was the only autoparts store in town that had it, i'd order it and wait rather than give them my buisness.
