Do a search and enter in "torsion twist", and you should get many many threads to read about that.

I was talking to my local 4x4 shop and he said you have to be really careful doing a torsion twist. He said they can blow up on you like doing struts on the newer cars.
He told me if I would do it to take my time. I might help someone put a lift in when they come out so that is why I was asking him.

Huh?

???? How many torsion lifts has your local 4x4 shop guy experience with on Explorers??????

The bolt requires a 13mm socket. You can learn everything you need to by reading the "Explorer Tips" section off of the main page on how to do it and then using the search feature to pull up a couple hundred discussions on this subject.

Oh yeah, not a one of the hundreds of us here that have done this has ever "blown up" this lift. And I think it safe to say that those who know me can testify that I haven't been too overly careful with mine; Perry included.

Perry, my friend, it's time you find another "4x4 shop guy".

No I know I don't. I said I was going to help someone that has it.
My local 4x4 guy has never done a Explorer, but he has done a lot of trucks. Like I said, I'm not sure what it takes, but it is good to be careful.
Come to think about it he might have been talking about lifting a torsion system.

Oopsie, trading edits too fast. I realized you were talking about another's vehicle and was re-editing my reply while you were replying to my original one. It still doesn't make sense to me though.

At any rate, an Explorer torsion twist lift of less than 2" should pose no worry to anyone who wants to do it.

Hopefully Superlift will get there lift out so people don't have to just do the 2" twist.
They say it will be out the first of the year, but then doesn't taht mean middle of summer??? lol
Gerald, that is good to know in case I help him with the torsion twist.

Man Thanks for that quick save you guys...I was about to freak out..First I got Explorer Pro Comps and had to send them back(mono-leaf). So I agree to spend the money on a custom job and "Its gonna blow up on me". Man what a scare!!! Well now the lift shall continue...Thanks to all for their help!!!
