We all hear of the problems with the 06-10 Explorer radiators. It's enough to make you crazy.

Speak up if you've never had a radiator problem; give your model year, make & mileage.

2010 Ford Explorer XLT V6 85k no problems yet (knock on wood).

06 v8, I got a small leak from the radiator at 150k miles, which is acceptable in my books, replaced it and currently at 180k miles on non-OEM Spectra radiator and not a drop on the floor.

06 4.0 62K miles (used for towing/pleasure so not a lot of miles) with no problems other than two failed thermostats, but I also have a 96 F150 with the 4.9L that has the classic seam weeping but haven't bothered to replace it yet since it is a ranch/snow plow truck and doesn't loose coolant that fast.

07 XLT 4.0
1st @ 90,000
replaced with OEM @ stealership

current mileage: 135,000

Hi,
2007 X with 97.k mls and original radiator here. At one of the very first services, Ford put its "stop leak" pellets in the radiator, saying that its an Ford requirement for that model and year...Overflow tank has been very dirty since, but loss of coolant is very low. I probably top it off every 2-3 Month with half a quart of premium gold coolant. Seems to lose less every year.
Got an aftermarket radiator sitting here in the garage for two years waiting to be installed, but think I am still better of with the original one so far...
