ok.. just wondering what the arch/ capacity/ etc is of the main leaf in the 4dr pack compared the main leaf (only leaf) of the monoleaf?
i understand that he 4dr pack has the other leaves that maintain the arch once weight is on it better than the puny monoleaf.. but is the main leaf itself any different?
i'm only asking b/c i'm curious. i run the 4dr leaves already but don't know where my monoleaf is or i'd go see for myself.

This help any?

Here's my 4 Door leaves, but there's also a double AAL thrown in the mix.

The mono leaf is tapered, progressive if you will. It is thicker in the center and thins out near the ends

So are you saying a monoleaf is in fact different than the topmost leaf on a 4 door leaf pack?

Yes, in fact its 3" wide, whereas the leaf pack is only 2.5" wide. The mono leaf is thicker where the axle bolts to it (stiffer spring rate) and tapers, gets thinner, towards the ends (softer spring rate).

I kept my monoleaf, and had a spring shop custom make a tapered AAL (3" wide just like the monoleaf). They explained all the diferenced between the tapered leaf vs. regular leafs. thats what made me keep my mono leaf.

If you look at the pic Hokie posted, you can see the thickness of the mono leaf near the center and you can see how it tapers (thins) near the ends. The standard leaf packs don't do that.

ok.. what i was getting at was swapping the monoleaf in for the main leaf of the 4dr leaf pack. i knew it was tapered but didn't realize it was 3" wide. basically..looking for another way to get a free .5" or something.. who knows.

I believe with the 'progressive' rate of the mono leaf it has a slightly different arch, only the ends are arched, the center 1.5 feet of the leaf is almost flat.

gotcha...

guess i won't bother even looking for them then! thanks guys

Yes, informative thanks yomie

Jason if you are looking for a little extra lift try f150 springs. I used the two leafs next to the main one. I added them and left one from my x out. The f150 leafs has more arch. Mix and match to get what you want. Also the center hole might need to be bigger. Good luck.

ahh yes.. i remember you guys mentioning that at tellico! i'll look into that, but i think it will be a while now. thanks for the reminder!
