I just got a 92 Explorer 2 wheel drive and I would like to lower it a little and was wondering if the ranger and explorers of those years shared suspension parts?

Yes they share the same front suspension. Any drop kit listed for the same model year Ranger will work on your Exolprer.

I was told that they are not the same. I have a 92 ranger and a 92 Explorer and the parts did not match up the same. The explorer sits a little wider as far as suspension I do believe.

I called a local dealer and they told me the ibeams are the same and gave me the part #

part #f1tz3006a passenger side i-beam $348.22 for one.

The only part in the front suspension that is the same, are the front coil springs. The I-Beams are different on a ranger and the explorer. The explorer I-Beam are longer, the explorer has a wider front end. See Ya Rick

No, the coils in the front of a ranger are the same as the coils in the explorer

Hey SCONN322

Can you give me some proof? Because I'm still getting different answers from other sources

I have talked to a few more dealers and they have given me part #'s

Ranger passenger side I-beam: part# e9tz3006a $366.48
Explorer passenger side I-beam: part #f1tz3006a $348.22

The parts guy’s at all 3 dealers said they think they are the same and that ford sometimes has different #'s for each vehicle so they can charge the dealer more for each part.

I still can't get a straight answer. I’m fixing to break out the tape measure and head to my works parking lot.
