if they are timken bearings, then yes they are good, if its a no namer i would walk.

I've used a set of Ebay ones with no problems.. Oddly enough the ones I bought had a Carquest box.

If they are Timken, BCA or SKF you will be fine.
Just because they are from Carquest does not mean they are a quality bearing.

I've worked for an industrial bearin supplier for almost 18 years. A guy brought in some tapered wheel bearings off a trailer that he had bought a NAPA and they were made in either China or Russia  I can't remember which.

That was about 2.5 years ago and I put them thru hell wheeling.. I've been happy with the set I bought.. Even the $177 set that are available at Advance from what I understand were made in China or Mexico according to the sales rep I spoke to last time. Typically the bearings come with a 1 year warranty, the ones on E-bay like this one, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford...015QQitemZ250030846561QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW, comes with a lifetime warranty.. I haven't yet taken advantage of it but I will on the next assembly I purchase..

Blee, I e-mailed then to ask what brand they were & they said they were Dorman. I have heard of Dorman but I doubt they make the actual bearing & race.

Were the bearings made in the USA that you bought freom this seller?

Since you said they have held up for two years I might be willing to try them if I can find this out as I need to replace both sides. I have 183.000 miles on the original ones.

It would be like getting one free from the parts stores at that price.
The Timken ones from Auto Zone are $160 ea + tax which would put them around $172 ea as oppoesd to $113 ea with shipping off Ebay

Hell couldnt you send the old bearing to them saying hey it broke...new one please.

I e-maild them again to see where they are actually made.

Here is what they told me.

Most of these are made in Korea, some are made in China and some are made in the USA. The batch we have right now were made in Korea. Although many people prefer USA made, we try to buy the best quality we can at the best price. We buy large quantities and we are mainly a wholesaler and that is why the prices are so cheap. We also sell Timken(USA),BCA(Korea), & ACDelco(Mexico). We would appreciate posting this to anyone who may be in need of any auto parts. We have over 6000 part numbers available and we have much more than just the bearings. If anybody needs anything we either have it or can get it. Also we can get most all of the top name brands, such as Timken,BCA, and ACDelco and all would be at a wholesale price. For instance the Timken we have in this bearing and it is $124.99 each. Some brand parts we have at better prices then others. Also we sell many window motor/regulator assemblies, camshaft synchro's, brakes, and many electrical components for Ford vehicles and we have many at great prices. Some of the parts we carry are actually direct from the manufacturer and are a fraction of the price. Anyway this bearing is great quality and the brand name is Dorman. If you ask any dealer, auto repair shop, or technician and they will most likely have nothing but great things to say about Dorman products. Thanks and let us know if we can be of any assistance, we also have detailed instructions available with most all of our parts. This makes it much easier for the do-it-yourselfers. Thanks

I admit I like the price. What I don't like is the fact that they are made in Korea or China.

It also sounds like they shop arond for the cheapest supplier since these are Korean made but others are Chinese made.

The lifetime warranty sounds nice as opposed to a one year warranty, but if they do fail you will have to send them back to the seller & it will be his word against yours. Plus you will have to pay to ship them back.

Blee you said they have done fine by you which is great. Personaly I just don't want to take the chance. I also like to put my hand's on some parts I'm buying and the hub assembly is definately one of them.

I want to spin those new bearings & see how they feel before I shell out my hard earned $$$.

So Sean if you are comfortable with buying them off Ebay after reading the sellers reply that is quite all right.

I want everyone to know I'm not knocking this seller as he has over 1,000 feedbacks with a 100% positive.

I'm just providing the information so you can make your own decision
