I got a set in & thought they were black. But there are a gray color. This is going to stick out a great deal on my X.

They are available in grey or gold only.

Mine are gray also.

when you order them you are supposed to choose grey or gold... what's wrong with just spraying some black paint on them?

Black paint won't last down in FL. Too hot too humid. I paint other things black & have to respray them every few months. Not worth it. I just thought they were black. I never heard any mention they were gray in any of the treads I saw. I'll install them but if I don't like them I'm dumping the entire setup & putting my AAL springs back in.

If you don't like them you can sell them to me... =D

I'm debating whether it's worth it for me to pay $600 for a 2" Skyjacker lift... I'm debating just going to an 8 or so right away... But, that'd probably cost several thousand...

I have them and the AAL. I love it no ass sag at all, and ridged as hell

Or sell them to me if pope_face doesn't want it :D

Do you know any local sellers of the lift here in Vancouver or were you thinking of ordering online?

i also got gray but if i did it again i would repaint them anyway, mine are starting to rust.

North Shore Offroad... that's where I got my quote from... It's like, $193 for the 2" coils, $114 for the AAL, and $57 per shock... all Skyjacker parts... or like $541 for the whole kit, which is everything as listed above... Warrior shackles were about $120... All these prices are without taxes though, so the entire kit was just over $600.

If it's that big of a deal powder coat them.

you can get the shackls for like 55 bux in the states

Looks like I'm heading into Washington this next weekend... I'll try calling a place in Bellingham or somewhere and seeing if they'd order them in for me... I'd still have to factor in driving time/gas and the exchange rate though... so I'd probably be looking at about $70... even so, I suppose it's cheap...

buy some high temp engine paint that should hold up to the heats of florida

when savagewolf made my shackles he painted them bright green field marking paint, the kind that washes off. 2 months later they are still as bright as the day he made them I dont believe it.

Just paint them and dont worry about it.

i repaint my cheap ones all the time. rocks tend to 'forcefully remove' things, including paint, from all surfaces of my truck they come in contact with. just carry some cheap-as-dirt 'mar-hyde rubber undercoating/truck bedliner' stuff from wal-mart. that stuff isn't coming off very easily, and definitely not from heat/humidity. it's worked for me for quite some time now.

I bought mine new and didn't like the light grey either. I siliconed the unwelded corners, spray painted them with wallyworld satin black, and they haven't needed paint since. It's been almost 5 years and 50,000 miles, through CO and NY winters, SE hurricanes, and much bad weather driving. I say use acetone to clean the surface, paint 'em how you like, and fuhgheddaboudit.

The coils should be closer to $130. The AAL should only cost about $35. $57 per shock isn't rediculous, but I'm shure you could get a better shock then that for the price, or you could just get some cheap ones for ~$35 a piece. I would recommend spending about $5 more per shock then you were planning on and getting some rancho RSX. I love mine. Someone else already mentioned how cheap the shackles are.

You could have them powder coated. although not completely permanent but probably the longest lasting. I can do them for about $20 each $35 a set. Gloss black, chassis black. silver or any color. Glenn
