If you have an 2001+ Explorer Sport or Sport Trac in Canada or Europe can you please answer me this question. What Headlight bulb do you use, 9007 or H4?

The reason I am asking is I would like to get either Euro or any other dang country, I really don't care from where. But a set of headlights that will use H4 bulbs. I have the 9007 true HID conversion now. I would love to get a set of Headlights that are made for my truck for another country that uses the H4's, then I will upgrade to the H4 HID kits that have High and Low beam! That would be sooo great!

Thanks for any help that you can provide!

Yes they are glass and use H4 bulbs. That is what gave me the idea.

Then getting these assemblies could solve our inadequate lighting. Wow. I want em.....

Great News! My contact at www.focaljet.com came through. They will check on Monday since it is already evening there the shops are closed. She is in Germany and will let me know what she finds out. I also asked her to check on anything else that I could get from over there and use to be different. Mabey Euro Tails with Yellow or something like that? Well I will just have to wait and see what she finds.

check for 1995+ euro spec headlamps too...

Yes please check for 95+!

You are welcome to check my RHD euro x just check the link in my sig. I've seen some posts from Swedish members do a search and from Auzzie. Mine would be no good as the point the wrong way and of course they use H4 lamp:D

The Aussies wouldn't help any either, but didn't Sweden switch to driving on the right hand side of the road in the '70s?

Yes, we are drivin at the right side. I use H4 in my
headlight. Bad news about the 2001+ sports and
sport track´s, there is no regular import to europe
thru Ford of these truck´s:mad: . the new 2002+
explorer didn´t come regular to europe either.
If you want me help you with something, go for it.
I have pics of my X at the link below. There are also
a link to a german explorer site.

Are the headlamps glass, rather than plastic?
I have a 2001 Explorer which uses headlamps that at least superficially look like those on your Explorer.

Many U.S. owners are fed up with the poor quality headlamps Ford gave us. What I'd like to find would be a set of replacement headlamps for your Explorer.

For what it's worth, I've been told that the correct term in German is:

> Hauptscheinwerfereinsatzen (streuscheiben mit haltern), links und rechts,
> > fur rechtsverkehr.

"Main headlamp inserts (lens-reflectors with brackets), left and right,
for right-hand traffic flow."

I was working on this a year ago but got caught up in some other distraction.

Thanks, Ed

I want an X with the drivers side on the right!

I hope this will help I am currently traking down a dealer in Germany with the view to getting the left hand drive headlight units with H4 lamp. Could you please tell me does the 2001 x have different lights to the 1998-2000 range? If so how different (pic would be nice) Thanks.

1995-2001 4 doors all have the same style lights as you with the wrap around/over turnsignals ,2002 Sports as well as the Sport trac have the newer style with the roundish lights and side turn signals rather than the style that you and I have on your RHD and my LHD 95 model.

I have some information for you guys. I called my local
Ford dealer today and asked for prices an partnumbers
for the headlights. we are talkin about 280$ each side.
The partnumbers are Right: F57D13005AJ
Left:F57D13006AJ. The guy thoght that the socket that
hold the H4 bulbs are included and some assembly
details. The headlamps have plastic lenses here in
europe also.
Maybe the prices are lower in Germany, but I´m not
sure about that.

Check out this German site and you'll see Ricks X. How did that get there? I have e-mailed them and we'll see. But feel free. http://www.autoranch.de
Hope this helps you all.

That German site is pretty cool, even if it is in German. Check out the "Tipps and tricks" section....the homemade BFGoodrich Radial TA lettering is a hoot :D

I checked with a local (U.S.) source {Torrie McPhail at fordpartsnetwork.com} who says that those part numbers are for the U.S. spec headlamps.

I did get these numbers last year from someone in Germany:

The numbers are: F57D13008AH (right one)
F57D13035AH (left one)

Have no idea if these are accurate.
