Ashtray Switch Panel File for 3D printer

Hey Guys, I can't remember if I saw it here or on Facebook. Does somebody have the 3D printer file to print a switch panel that fits in the stock ashtray location? Somebody was offering their file a while back, but I can't remember where I saw it... I have a few off road lights I'd like to add and that would be the perfect place. That or I'm going to cut up my dash under the headlight switch. Thanks for the help!

Did you use PETG or HTPLA since the interior gets hot? It came out very nice. You should make a listing on EBay to sell these things or you could make a listing in the parts section on this site with a link in your signature.

Used PETG. I’ve been impressed with the PETG I’ve been using. It’s held up fine to the under hood temps for some parts there too.

I was thinking about listing here for everyone on the forum. Been in the middle of reworking my big printer to make it more reliable. As soon as that’s done I’ll probably make a listing!

I used it a little in the lab when I was working on my degree. Definitely an improvement over regular PETG. The only thing I noticed with it was it seemed to work better with a printer enclosure. But made some pretty good looking prints.

Another update… have been fighting with the big printer to spit out a quality print. Have had it apart and back together four different times this month and this is the current result…

Not great. Not really sure why it’s so unhappy. Lately have had more print failures with the big printer than successes. Was hoping to use the big one as it prints faster and can fit three of the switch panels at one time

Currently running one of these on my small printer to see how it does. The small one spits out quality successful prints 98% of the time. Downside is it runs slower and can only print one panel at a time.

Try using a 0.4mm copper nozzle.

Benefits of copper over brass? I’ve been using 0.4mm brass nozzles.

Playing with print orientation to see if that’ll help too
