Looking to change my transfer case fluid and my differential. i saw a video on here saying you can use automatic transmission fluid for your transfer case and ive also seen you can use gear oil. i have a 97 and it only has 67 thousand miles on it i want to keep it in good shape and i know the fluids need changeing but i wanna find out whats best for the truck.

Go with ATF that is what factory spec is.

I think gear oil would be too heavy.

I have recently changed mine with ATF. It works well.

I never changed it before ive seen some how to's and ive changed other fluids so im not to worried about it but im wondering how the results will be and what the changes will be. Im assuming since its AWD and always engaged that i will feel it more then if it were to be a 4x4 But anyone got any advice?
