Attica Run April, 20-22

Cameron he claimed they just put one on a '97 in their shop. I questioned him about the crossmember, but he said it wasn't a problem. You never know though. It could be a mis-statement. We'll have to wait and see.

atticca

maybe riff will let me drive heheh :P

Riff, what are you...................??????? well, let's see.....

heck, anyway,,,,,,,,

Riff can't let you ride in a back seat cause he's got no back seat...... it's always in down position.

My check hasn't cleared yet, but I did get a email from Shannon that my reservations were confirmed so Anne and I will be there.

On a separate note, I know a few of you guys have been wondering about the solid axle swap, (Scott), well it's almost done. Just have to finish up the brake lines and fiddle with some minor adjustments. With any luck it should be done by the middle of the week. Then all I have to do is swap the rear gears and we'll see if my engineering stands the test.

It's not as high tech as Ricks, but I didn't end up with alot of money in it either relatively speaking. I did everything at home in the garage except I had Moser respline the axle shaft.

I put a few poor quality pics in my photopoint album if you'd like to have a look see. The link is in my sig.

I noticed you guys mentioned this isn't a serious exploration so whats the requirements to join in on the fun. I have a stock 97 explorer sport.

I have a stock 97 Sport also. Well, actually I have 31-inch tires but otherwise, I have done nothing with the suspension. Last time I went to Attica I hade a great time. Granted, you’ll have to stay on the easy trails. If you want to experience the tougher trails, hop a ride with one of the modified Explorers.

Where are you from?

Cool im in then. Im from chicago so I would love go up there in a team. Ill registor tommorow and hope I get in :)

Tony, you should really read the entire thread plus join our group of "Explorers" from Northern Illinois. http://www.noiec.com is the url, go and check it out. We are planning another get together over at my house on Sunday March 04th. To Attica we're going together as a group. Even Rick, yes, Rick will join us since he'll come to Chicago just before Attica event.

Glad to see you back.......

Andre,
I just got the e-mail from Rick about this event. I figure you'll reply to the "limited" explorer guy. I am as fresh as the new fallen WI snow to off road events but I would love to start someplace. If there is still openings let me know and I would consider hooking up with you guys. If you are not too elite to Explorers my roommate may want to tag along in his lifted Cherokee and I have another buddy who is trying to sell his 97 Wrangler with a 4" terra flex lift and an Eaton Supercharger (to start a long list of options) so he maywant to go to demo a great test drive. Let me know if there is spots. And roughly how many miles the trip is so I can figure out expenses.
Thanks,
Dan in beautiful LaCrosse, WI where we are getting dumped on with more white stuff this morning

Dan,

I'm sure there is plenty of room for you and your friends. This event is open to all makes and models and we don't mind a jeep or two tagging along. The more the better.

Here is a link with all the information and a sign up sheet.
http://www.sports-in-the-rough.com/...r_in/attica.htm

Here is the URL to the Badlands in Attica Indiana:
http://www.badlandsoffroad.com/

You can go to map quest or Yahoo or something like that to put in your town and Attica to get exact miles but I think it should be about 400 miles each way. Your about 280 miles from Chicago, so if you wanted to meet up with us, a bunch of us are caravaning together down to Attica on Thursday night. Exact time of departure is yet to be determined.

Hope you can make it.

Eric, everybody from Illinois and Wisconsin that are going to Attica for this event ....... at our last meeting we did set the exact departure time and it's set for 7:00PM. We all gonna meet at the first truck stop on I-65 just south of I-80/94 and leave at exactly 7:00PM on thursday April 19th. If there are any questions or suggestions regarding this, please let us know.

Next NOIEC meeting is scheduled for March 04. Look-up our site for all the details.

I thought that time was tentative. Is Rick aware of this? I guess I fell asleep and missed something! Well at least I'm not at the wheel!!!!!!

I have sent Rick an e-mail regarding this and I'm sure he'll read my post.

One more time let me remind all of you interested in participating ,,,,, use the link in Cameron's post to log onto the events registration page. Print out registration form and send it in with your fee. The sooner, the better since the event is limited to 200 vehicles. There are no limitations as far as mods or lifts. Anybody, even owner of a stock vehicle can sign up and participate.

You can also start searching for a place to sleep. Best use any one of commercial sites for motel/hotel reservations (http://www.expedia.com or http://www.travelocity.com). There are camps available as well. Most of us are staying at Ramada in Lafayette, Indiana. Check Lafayette, IN and Danville, IL.

Have questions? post them here.

Good luck,

Thanks fellas,
I may try to hook up with you guys especially since I have been watching Rick's rig in jealousy on a lousy computer screen for the last few years, just how many other Explorers are we expecting at this point?
