I am trying to get rid of my crappy "premium" factory system for my 96 XLT... got it out and have tried to install new system but cant get speakers to work...cant' find the wire connection for the amp...even bought conversion harness and still no go... have never had this hard of a time installing a radio... will even bypass the amp or whatever if have to..please help been 1 week without radio in car!!!!

There is a wire behind the HU that can be powered to run the factory amp. It will sound crappy, and the best thing to do is remove the rear passanger side plastic that has the factory subwoofer(or cargo pocket with net). You will need a big torx bit to remove the rear seat belt anchor. You can bypass the amp in the rear behind the panel with a harness, cut and connector or solder. It's not a tough jub, and if you can install a HU you should be able to do this.
