Hello

I have a 97 ford explorer XL- Basic Audio system, good bass. I recently took a head unit and the 3 plugs off of a 1999 Ford Explorer. I wired it into my truck, but had to disconnect the factory amp, and by-pass it, is that way i have a flat line for bass? There is NO bass AT ALL, in my truck now, is there a way to get bass back in my truck without, Subs?

You will either need to hook the amp back up or add subs. Even then you won't have a flat line response. You will need an eq and lots of time to tweak it with a real time analyzer. And after all the work you put into it, you still won't have a flat line response. Are you trying to compete in sound quality or something?

sorry by flat line i mean, NO bass what so ever, the sound is flat, even with the bass cranked there is none, but with the old head unit i had a normal level of bass. i just want a bit of bass similar to a factory system thats all. Before my mirrors would vibrate, and you could feel the bass (from a BONE STOCK system in a 97 explorer XL.), Now there is 0% bass in the truck.

Either get subs or hook it back up...Only real solution.
