I am hooking up my aftermarket sub/amp to factory head unit.

I had the RCA line out converter installed by circuit city and did the rest myself from there. It works, yes, but the problem is i cannot get my sub loud enough like it was when i had it with a kenwood head unit in another vehicle. Now i turned up the gain on the amp, went up a bit yes, but not as much as i know it can push BY FAR.

What else is there? If i remember correctly my buddy used to do this all the time in his vehicles with no aftermarket HU and got tons of sound! I'm decent with audio stuff but this is blowing my mind.

Any ideas???

Is there an output level adjustment on the line out converter?

Should there be? It's hard to explain, but i can't see it. If there should be then i will take it out of the location that circuit city put it in and look, just kind of a PITA.

What brand and model of converter did they use?

AXXESS model ALOC6o8

I took it out and it has a left and right input, but i tried to turn those with a screw driver and no volume improvement. Funny thing is, i jiggled it around and there's a loose part in it already (I just had this installed on the 27th), so maybe it's just faulty...

I don't know the answer, but I will be needing to know soon myself.

I do know that the Mach(with OEM sub) and Premium HU are special Pioneer models. The Mach has a fifth output signal, but it also has a special signal within that signal to communicate with the sub amp(mute). An expert told me that a special transformer(what he called it) is needed to filter out that imbedded signal.

Thus the Mach HU needs something special compared to what is typically used with a factory HU. Contact Crutchfield, they are about the best aftermarket stereo dealer, they should know.

Please post your findings, I have my Mach unit sent away to add RCA's, soon to add three amps, etc. Regards,

Take it back and have them look at it. If you are not satisfied, then they should not be.

How is your ground? It should be the same or larger gauge than what is being used as power.

The ground is four guage and the power is four guage. It is a solid metal frame ground that i dremeled off the paint of the frame.

Is it wired to the rear speakers? Try "fading" to the rear.
