First Issue:
The sticker says I have seven speakers; I see two up front, two in the middle, and the sub in the back, but where are the other two? Are they counting two-way speakers separately? If so, does that mean I only have one set of two-way speakers?

Second Issue:
I found on some car radio website that the Audiophile CD-6 system is CDDJ compatible, allowing it to be expanded to a 12-disc changer. I've never heard of this; does it sound right to anyone?

Thanks in Advance,
Vin

they are counting the front tweeters and front midrange speakers as 4,
+ the rear door coax as 2, + the sub as 1 =7
just their way of trying to make you feel all warm and fuzzy about the loads of extra $$$ you dropped down on the upgraded stereo:rolleyes:

The speakers in the front doors have two separate drivers in an enclosure. The speakers in the rear doors are "full-range" NOT coaxial (earlier versions of Ford Audiophile systems had the same two-ways in the rear doors as the front, for a "9-speaker" system). So you have 4 speaker drivers in front (2 in each door) 2 in the rear (1 in each door), and the 7th is the Subwoofer driver in the RR quarter trim.

The CDX6 radio IS compatible with the factory style Ford CD Changer - I have one hooked up to mine. I was the one who pushed the engineers to keep the changer compatibily in the radio. The bean-counters figured 6 CD's in the radio was enough - I told them "No". I won that one, but was not able to convince the Explorer Program people to offer the CD Changer with the CDX6 radio as a factory option - too many "buildable combinations".
