Just put an Aussie in the rear (ford 8.8) of my '01 sport. It is working out great!! No excessive noice and is quieter/easier going than my buddies in his WJ (DANA 44).

Just a few days ago I was testing it out and the front needs to be locked and was wondering how bad it would be with the Aussie in the front. I have been looking for a limited slip for months now and just can not wait for the torsen (january 09).

I understand that it will not make my 4x4 experiences very fun in the snow, I am ready to accept that fate.

Questions for those with the Aussie in the front:

1. While in 2wd is there any pully from the aussie up front? while turning etc....
2. How nice does it perform on the trails? PROs & CONs (blowing CV's left&right)......
3. My truck is my daily driver - Yes or No for locking the front
4. Additional advice or comments

Thanks,

CMAX

1. No noticable change in steering, just more of the same clicking you get from the rear

2. I haven't done any hardcore trails yet, but I've been through mud and snow plenty and i have had no maintenance problems. (BTW, 4WD in the snow with locked front and rear pretty much means you're going in a straight line whether you like it or not). Also, I haven't been stuck in mud since I've installed these.

3. Why not? Mine is my daily driver and in 2WD, you'd never know it was there except for the clicking.

4. I've had mine since January 6th, Installed front and rear lockers with the help of my dad & uncle (who is a 30+ years experience mechanic) in 2 hours. No problems yet, only off road benefits.

Sounds good!!! I just got done ordering it. I will have it tomorrow and will be installing it after work.

Hey guys, just came across this thread. Trj, thanks for the advice on the rear Aussie/BWM a few months ago. Awesome results. I too have been considering a front Aussie as well, and the concept of going in a straight line while in 4 wheel pretty much settles it for me. With the snow we get around here, I use 4x on the roads frequently in the winter, and city driving requires turning. Guess I'll need to see what happens with Torsen. Take it easy.

I love mine so far, but I haven't driven it in snow with the front locker yet.
The locker isn't noticeable in 2wd, mine is a daily driver. The steering is tight while on the throttle in 4x4, of course, but it kicks ass on the trails. Only had it on a few trails since the front locker, but I keep a set of CV's in the back nowadays just in case.
