Aussie Lockers?

From the email, they had a problem getting some spring for it, and that delayed production and release. They hoped to have them out by late June, and it sounds like that is bumped back two weeks or so.

Maybe AussieLocker will post and fill us in.

yes they had a problem with their original spring supplier and had to find a new one. it caused them to be a little behind.. but at least you know the stuff will work right! it was a quality control issue for the most part. they wanted the parts to be just right.

ok guys I have a couple questions regarding lockers. I have a 94 xlt with the axle D4 which when looked up is 3:73 limited slip . I am thinking about purchasing one of these aussie lockers, should I get one for the front or rear? or for both? I have never installed a locker before so I need to know where would be best. Thanks for your help ! :D oh and if i get an aussie locker what part numbers would I need for my explorer?

I think the rear would be more effective if you only get one.

You are going to need to find an open carrier to put in a locker, your Trac-lok carrier won't work. (I'm in the same boat)

I don't think they have a part #, since they haven't released the locker yet.

ahh i see so I would need more than just the locker then for the rear. Well maybe I will just wait till I learn enough to know what all I need to run a locker , thanks for your help :)

Ford 8.8

The Ford 8.8 and 9" are in our engineering department at this time. I originally expected to see them in production by the end of July but the resources we had to allocate to solving our spring vendor problem will delay the product availability until late August.

We apologize for the inconvenience our slow delivery has caused our customers. We do not charge credit cards until we ship the product, but we do understand the frustration of having to wait for a product.

Bill

Hopefully they come out with both the 31 spline and 28 spline models at the same time for the 8.8...i just may get one too, if RangerX gets his in when by the next run i'll have to see how it does:D

Well unfortunately, I would love to try one of these, but I can't wait till August. I'm going to go with what I imagine is a lesser locker for a lot more money. Damn, I really wanted one of these!

oops, just noticed the post before mine where it said it wont be available til aug:p

I thought you were going with a detroit locker RangerX or you still considering others?

Just thinking don't they have one already for the D35 front. I swore I saw it on their list for rangers.

Can someone confirm this? I will be opeing up my front diff to replace seal and it is a good time to add one.

Dana 35

Yes, we have Dana 35 models of the Aussie Locker. We are presently shipping from inventory the Dana 44, AMC 20 and 8" Toyota. Week after next we will have another Toyota in our inventory, plus additional stock on the above mentioned models, and then the Dana 30 and 35 models will arrive a few weeks later. We are still on allocation from our spring vendor due to a yield problem, but we are at least catching up with some of our backlog. We appreciate everyones understanding and that we have had few order cancellations. We will be at full inventory by the first week or two of August and our response will be 2 days from receipt of order.

For those waiting for new Ford models, we have received the broaches for the Ford 9" and other models. We will be releasing a schedule in two weeks and will be taking advance orders at an "introductory price". That pricing will be announced here first.

Aussie Lockers....Traction to go anywhere

are u guys doing one for 8.8 also?

8.8 Diff Locker

Yes, ,we will have the 8.8 along with the 9".

One comment, our 9" will be a complete locker set unlike some of our competitors who use the stock side gears. We feel that our approach, while more expensive, provides for a much more reliable Automatic Precision Locker Differential.

Thanks for keeping us informed. :)

Bump!

Any word on the D35 and 8.8 availability?

I just sent them a emai. I'm sure Bill will get back to me in a few days. Will post what I find out.

Dana 35 Availability

Engineering has gotten bogged down on the Dana 35 family of lockers. We are at 4 models now and adding one more it appears. The factory has made a decision to release the entire family at one time to take advantage of a large production run. So we are delayed far beyond our most pessimistic plans. I do not expect to see these in our inventory until early summer. The schedule after the release of the Dana 35 family is the aluminum Dana 44 and then the two Ford 8.8 and Ford 9".

We are looking for an additional technical service representative. This position is for someone who has differential and locker experience. You rotate with our California representative and answer email and phone calls from our customers. If you are interested in knowing more about this opportunity and have the experience level, want to work from home, then send an email to bill.cole@att.net

We appreciate the honest update, Bill. Thanks.

After reading the 4 pages i have a few questions. these are automatic lockers that lock when you get on the gas? What if you are keeping the rpm's low, will it not lock then? Also i have a stock (for now) 92 xlt. What type of front and rear axles do i have? Thanks.

Justin

I also want to find out if this unit reacts similar to a powertrax ?
I didn't want to install the switch/mod on my truck so the powertrax was out for me.
I want something that reacts like the Torsen T2...
Having something like that would be perfect for me.
