It has an A4LD tranny, not sure if it can be done or not...

Try doing a search. I came up with a few threads when I searched for "aftermarket shifter."

The newer A4LDs (yours I think) are a three speed with electronic OD. I know the older ones (pre-1990) did not have electronic OD. This might be your downfall. If you can shift from D to OD on the column shifter keep reading. If you have to push a button, you might be out o fluck.

I've seen a B&M style ratchet shifter on a friends Ranger with the A4LD. I'm almost positive he used a shifter for an AOD since it is a 3 speed with OD.

Most are cable operated which means they will work with anything. The only thing specific to the tranny are the brackets that the cable hooks into to get the correct shift pattern.

ahh i see, yes i do have the 3 speed plus od, no push button, ill have to look into it more, gonna go search now...

Hmmm... I see yours is a 91 EB 4x4... just like mine... Let us know what you find! :D
