Yeah, I kept them up for like 2 weeks probably, it was pretty cold out when I first installed them.

I'm not quite sure what you mean... can you explain it?

Some of the VentShades attach to the body as opposed to going inside the channel.

It's a matter of preference.

Mine are in the channel...

No no... what I mean is on the XLT on the back door, for the window, about maybe 1/5 or so of the window is separate from the part that goes down. The ventshades that I am used to seeing only go on the part that rolls down. Mine go over the little piece that doesn't roll down as well.

That's what I mean some stick to the inside if the channel, others stick to the outside edge of the door directly surrounding the glass channels.

I haven't seen any that actually stick to the outter portion of the channel only the type that stick to the body that directly surrounds the channel.

Sticking them to the outter portion of the channel probably wouldn't be a good idea since that portion of the channel is flexible.

If the VentShade sticks to the body surrounding the channel it would have to encompass the little courtesy window on the back door also...since it's technically part of the back window.

damn u all did it the hard way.. i took a dremmel tool that my dads had from like the 70 ds :afro: and grinded the inside part of the visor that goes inside the window dealy at an angle.. i havent had a problem with it yet... and the front ones work fine.. the rear right window hangs for a split second but nothing too bad.. :D

Mine goes over the courtsey window, but is on the inside of the channel.... that's what I meant.

If it's on the inside of the channel where the glass is it can't go over the courtesy window...first lets make sure we're talking about the same thing...the courtesy window is the like 4" wide glass that doesn't move, then there's the power window.

The VentShades that go inside of the channel don't cover the courtesy glass, at least I've never seen any that do...the ones that do cover the courtesy windows (4" glass) are mounted to the outside right at the edge of the body where the plastic channel starts.

The VentSahdes that go inside the channel only cover the power window.

Take a look at the link below-

I'm serious... it goes inside the channel but covers the courtesy window (the small piece after the power window). I got them as a gift, so I dont know where my friend got them. I will try to get some pics for you soon so I can show you....

oh ya... mine does that everytime since the day i put them on 3 years ago.... i have never bothered to fix them cause most of the time my back windows are never down.... the A/C is always on.

Pics would be nice...I'm curious because I've never seen that type...

Pics coming Monday. :)

where the pics man? i gotta see this, what are they glue on?

Same here curiousity got the better of me.

Get the type that stick to the outside of the frame. Not the "in the channel" type. Never any problem with windows opening or closing.
I have had mine for 3 years now and never any problems w/ cracking or coming loose. Even this winter with iceicles hanging from them! I got them at Stylin Concepts.
Plus they look better. I hate the in channel ones on a four door. They don't cover the back part of the rear window! Never understood that look.

Actually that's what the majority of this thread has been about. I have the in-channel ones that cover the little 'courtesy window' of the back window. I have pics coming, cause nobody has seen this type before.
