what type fluid does the ex take. I know there are two type of transmission fluid. and how much will be needed for a change.

The amount depends on whetehr you change ALL of the fluid via a flush type of procedure (discussed in detail in the transmissions forum) or simply drop the pan and replace what you lost that way. Depending on the year etc it will be 10-12 quarts to change it all, and only 4-5 for a pan drop (which obviously does not change it all). Visit the transmissions forum for more detail.
