autozone/pep-boys shackles

anyone with the ladder bar type shackles, that you can buy at pep-boys and autozone, ever thought about welding a peice of tubing in between the 2 bars? i bought some 1" tubung and am gonna have my friends dad weld it in for me. is there anything wrong with that?

that will be fine.... someone here did that already.. but didn't weld it. just used a bolt through the center to hold it in place.

ok i have it bolted in for the time being, just need to get a longer bolt and i might get them welded this weekend or next. depends on if i get off my lazy :mattmoon:
