Already?! It just came out. I hoping to see more options such as the power running boards, seats, and liftgate. I understand the pricing is close to the Navigator, but at least with the rebates, it would be competitive.

They could blame it on the success of the Navigator. Ford got fooled into thinking Explorer would-be-buyer would go for the overpriced Aviator.

They should've spent more money on beefing up the engine and tranny instead of cosmetic stuff. Maybe, just maybe, they'll have more buyer.

So what other Midsized SUV has 302HP and 300ft-lbs? And actually feels like it?

I think a big thing is that it is overpriced.

315 HP and 329 Torque of Infinity FX45.
340 HP and 350 Torque of BMW X5.

Those are just 2 that the Aviator is competing against on that price range.

My point really is, maybe if Lincoln didn't spend so much on body cladding, maybe the price wouldn't be so high that they are competing against the likes of BMW X5.

The Aviator and the X5/FX45 are in completely different classes. THos are both amazing handling street SUV's where the Aviator may ride nice, but its still a gussied up Explorer and people know it. It'll never come close to the X5/FX45 in value or performance. Its a still a truck... just with some wierd, un-truck like axles

sad sad sad... i like those trucks but they are way to much $$

I've ridden in one too, And it rides just like an explorer. I hit my head off the roof just like an Explorer. And the look on your neighbors favewhen you tell them that they just spent 50 grand on it and you have practically the same thing in your garage for only $32k is pricless.

It didn't impress me much.

Yeah I was severely dissapointed in the Aviator. Maybe this and the Blackwood will make Ford wise up and realize people aren't just going to buy crap because its a "Lincoln" anymore. Way too many other more worthy competitors out there.

Yep, too pricey! Why buy the Aviator when you get a x limited for less or for the same money get a nav.

Sure, it has a sweet ol' Cobra motor, but it still can't propel the 5000 lb SUV any faster than a FX35, Murano to name a few. It's not much quicker than the 4.6 Mounty and Xs.

I thought the Aviator is much quieter than an loaded up Explorer/Mountaineer. It would be cool to see the DOHC engine, DVD navigation, and other Aviator unique features in the Explorer/Mountaineer soon.
