I have a '98 5.0L X with a AWD mechanical shift transfer case, and I was wondering if it would work to put in a manual shift transfer case? They are pretty much the same thing arent they? I know the the electronic shift transfer case wouldn't work because it cant handle the power of the V8. It would be nice to be able to swich into 2wd in the summer, and real 4wd in the winter. I don't like how the AWD can only put about 30% max power to the front and 60% to the back. It makes for interesting handling on the snowcovered, icy, and turney country roads where I live.
