Axle ratio from VIN

I am looking at a used rear axle for my truck. The seller says the axle code tag is missing but he does have the VIN from the donor vehicle. Is there anyway to determin the ratio from just the VIN?

Both vehicles are 95 models.

No axle info in the VIN and your donor vehicle decal is probably long gone. Lift the wheels and count turns.
