he doesnt want to llose flex in the process though. just run it right alongside the driveshaft and make you a x-member that runs right behind the t-case. Keeps you from having any loss of groundclearance cause it will always be at teh same place your driveshaft is.

I like James Duffs idea. Goes over the leaf. But Explorers would have to be sprung over for it to work. I am going to use one on my SAS when I SOA.

Show me more of this james duff one. Link?

It's on Jamesduff.com. I believe they are for Rangers, since Explorers aren't SOA stock.

ok heres the link

So theoretically this should work for the explorer if it is sprung over? I see one part bolts the the ubolts on the axle but i cant quite picture where the other part bolts.

hard to tell

id guess the got it mounted ont eh front spring hanger. Rangers springs are outboarded unlike explorers.

You might just have to mount a custom bracket to the frame and make the other end of the rod attach to it.

You could build something like a shock hoop with a bracket at the end to attach to the arm. I have been doing some research on this and looks like the only problem could be if it is going to be able to flex enough for me. I have been told by many people that one end really needs to have a shackle on it or something to make it able to flex with the range of the suspension. Just some thoughts. I might mount the rear of it with a shackle mount and that would solve the problem.

Here's one that I fabricated on my B11 its untried at present the front has shackles to give it better articulation. You really need some way of getting some movement in the front connection. I made some models before I made this one and without flex in the front it really limited travel.

I like that. By saying rear that is where it attaches to the frame it is basically your design reversed. The front attaches to the u-bolt plate and then it goes back and attaches towards the rear of the frame. So would that limit travel?

The pic that I posted is of the pass. side. The shackled side is towards the front. So if the tires really get a lot of traction the axel housing will rotate counter CW (pass. side) and the shackle will straighten out, limiting further axel ratation, thus limiting the spring warp. In the pic you can see that there is some angle in the shackle compared to the traction rod. This angle will straighted out and be in line with the round traction bar once the axel rotates back.

Sweet love the design.
