ford makes 4 or 5 different rate T-bars. The B is the stiffest rate and the F?? i think is the softest.

I'm gonna chime in here real quick, nissian the different rated bars b-f, do the different rated bars make a difference in lift you will get with a tt or is just the stiffness of the ride?

do you get these direct from ford? any idea on cost? how can you tell what is currently in your explorer?
questions, questions, inquiring minds want to know

I've got a pair of B-rated torsion bars in the shed in Charlottesville, VA

I have D rated ones right now and was going to swap but now don't plan on it

Lemme know if you want them

B rated will yield the most (full 2") of torsion twist lift as they are the stiffest spring available. Basically, a torsion twist'd vehicle is probably going to ride the same seeing how it takes a certain spring constant to just lift the vehicle.

You can get them from ford parts network for $50 a bar, you can look on the bar themselfes and it should say what stiffness or rated bar you have, or on the side door panel I believe, I just want to know if the diff rated bars make a difference in what lift you get with a tt, someone hopefully will chime in.

Posted to soon, hokie if he don't want them I do ;) And still want to know if the diff rated bars yield more lift from a tt or not?

hokie
how much? are they new?
I am going to look and see what is in mine now. I have a 99 sport, the stock config. sound similiar to yours
I want to stiffen the front end some more. I built a daul shock hoop with inverted bilstiens it works good but I just feel like the front is still a little too soft when hitting it hard.

ok, I looked on the drivers door and found D under the tr code. So I carefully assume that I have a d rated bar.
so hokie I sent you a private so lets talk

Don't let that boy charge you for those bars!! :D Okay, maybe a 12-pack..........

1 rated T-bars are the stiffest.. NOT the B rated bars. The 1 rated, come on the SportTrac

Anybody, anybody?

and "L" are the sofest ones, they come on Ltd's along w/ the "H" leafs.

real soft stuff to work w/ the air shocks.

i just got some B's from the local Ford dealer.

ok, where did the 1 rating bar come from I thought we were dealing with b thru f. will the sport trac bar work on the explorer sport?

Yes, same front end.. people have swapped them, not sure if they've noticed substantial differences. Ray Lobato maybe?

Hey hokie, if he dosen't want your b rated t bars i'll take them.

Karol(Draper worked on her truck) also has #1 rated bars.

Do you know if they got more lift from the #1 rated bars than the b-f ???

Nope.

Primary reason for switching the bars, was because they are heavier duty.. and Karol is running a Superlift, which leaves the bars exposed.
