Ok I think I have this kinda figured out.

What I though was a loose Throttle cable is not the problem (although I still think it's too dam loose!)

Truck seems to run fine when warm, but when cold.....Somtimes and only sometime she will start but not stay at Idol. She just dies. Now It's a SOHC and it has never had the big warranty problem fixed (Upper gasskets and time chain) I desided to leave it alone because it dosn't run bad unless you get it really cold weather, and sence I live in So. Cal. Plus the fact my wife has only put about 10k on it over the last 1.5-2 years .

What could it be?

1. Not fixing the T-chain and Upper intake is Haunting me?

2. I read that "Adlive" had a simmiler problem and it was a O2 sensor. Plus the truck has thrown O2 sensor codes in the past...Every once in a blue moon.

3. dogfriend said somethig about the IAC? Hum?

4. Other????

Help me out Guys! :banghead:

No codes have been thrown. It acts like a fuel problem...kinda?

Clean out the IAC, it's worth a shot.

Swap the IAC valves from one truck to the other to see if it might be that.

You have the classic symptom of a bad IAC valve - its supposed to let in more air when cold to maintain idle speed.

You know thats funny...because it through a code for the IAC. It said there wasn't enough air  I just though it said that because it was Idleing at 300 rpm :nono:

I think my IAC may be different... Mine OHV and hers is SOHC

I think they should be the same - it should be easy to tell visually.

Another fast check - unplug the IAC while the truck is idling - if it is working, you should see the RPM drop by a couple of hundred rpm.

Check out this video again - notice what happens when I unplug the IAC

Wooooo

BTW - Upper intake gasket leaks will also cause idling problems when cold, BUT the symptoms should be different because you will get too much air (unmetered) instead of too little.
