Back Hatch won't Open

Hi guys, I'm a brand newbe here. I picked up my 01 Explorer and for some reason the hatch won't open. The glass part opens fine. But I unlock the truck and it still won't open. Is there some type of safety thing for that?

No, there's no type of safety interlock there....

Does the handle feel like it's connecting to anything when you pull it, or does it feel loose?

Also, try using the key instead of the power locks if you haven't already. My power lock back there has gotten sticky a couple of times.

I took it back to the dealer. The found some part of the power lock to be bad. There ordering one and it sould be fine.
