I have seen alot of posts about exhaust and the back pressure. Single in/duel out, duel in/single out (stock on mine), ect... What is this motor happy with? It is a stock 302, but I do not know how the computer messes with things. Should I stick with headers and a cat back system, or is there something better?

On my 4.0 SOHC v6, I went from stock to dual in/dual out 2.25" 50 series exhaust. I noticed a drop in low end.

I recently just redid my exhaust with a Y pipe coming off the cat pipes into a single in/single out 2.5" IMCO EXTREME then dumped. I noticed a HUGE gain in torque. Even my mom commented after driving my truck. It felt like I was in underdrive the whole time I was in overdrive. Putting it in underdrive was a lot more torquey. I would stay with single, I read duals are only for crazy highout engines or looks/sound

yes. Heres the thing, when i did my exhaust daul in dual out, i noticed mid range went up, it was like a small turbo was on my engine. BUT my top end was shot to hell. When i cut out my secondary cats, midrange got really good and top end got a bit better. I would experiment but frankly i dont have the cash. I would go for a dual in single out if i had to do it all over again.
