Hi Guys
I just bought a 2003 Ford Explorer 4.0 V6 cheap. It has some problems. It has the timing chain noise. I replaced the tensioner for the back timing chain. Did not help. Is there a way to replace the timing chain rail and chain without pulling the motor. Can this timing job be done without special tools? It has 207,000 miles on it. The other problem is the overdrive light is flashing. I have drove it and it goes in he’sr and shifts good. I also have to change the back wheel bearings.

Thank you

Unless you're willing to invest time and lots of money, your 4.0 Explorer is not long for this world.
I'd say ride it as long as you can, and when it stops, says goodbye.
