Ok, first of all, you all know how these gas prices are through the roof, especially here in San Diego, ridiculous...
I dont know but ever since the **** hit the fan in Egypt, my car has lost major power and MPG.
So about a week ago i changed my oil and filter, thinking it would help. It ran way smoother since i was missing 2 qts somehow
Than, the next day, my engine started shaking violently and backfiring like crazy, than the dreaded CEL lit up ! I had the codes read and i found out it was a misfire on cylinder 6.
So i went to check the spark plugs and they were fine, i changed them 3 months ago. I went to autozone to buy the wires since i did NOT change those.
The wires fixed the problem for about a day, but it was as if they were compensating for the underlying condition (which i dont know what it is)
So now my engine is very rough and i dont want to drive it anymore, but i HAVE to unfortunately...:thumbdwn:
Any ideas on where to go next ?
I was gonna replace the coil pack but i didnt want to spend the money unless i knew for a fact that it was it, is there anyway to test the pack ? Specifically cyll 6 ?
Oh yeah, the CEL starts blinking on and off, is this bad thing ?
If you guys can lend me a few thoughts, that would make my addiction to this forum that much worse !
