The rear passenger windows on my '03 XLT have suddenly stopped working - I've checked to see if there are individual fuses for windows front and rear, but unless I missed it, there doesn't seem to be one -

Front windows work fine - any ideas?

Did you check the lock on the drivers switch? might be silly but... it's the only thing I can think of

Checked it - locks the front passenger side, so it seems to be working...

yea, id check the fuse box under the hood... they are made with clear plastic tops to see if they are junk or not -- if you see one blown, pull it out and replace it...

the worst thing that can happen is you fix something else;)

You're right - I'll take a look - it could (i hope) be something that simple -

rear window

Sometimes the rear windows will stick if not used for awhile. If no fuses are blown gently pound the inside of the door under the handle, while trying the window switch. If this works be sure to spray silicone lube on door tracks.

I checked for blown fuses, and can't see any - I'll see if the windows are just stuck - thanks for the idea

My 02 Explorer rear passenger window will not roll up either. Here is where it gets weird, if the person in the backseat rolls down the window it will not roll up by using the switch in the back, or even the drivers control. It will only roll up when I open the drivers door and use the drivers switch. No fuses blown.

Check on the driver's door for loose/broken wires, it might be that when you move the door the wire makes contact and allows it to work

Seems like a common problem I had some wires go bad a few years ago spliced them and now am experiecing the same thing. but differnent door. Looks like when the drivers door wire fails the whole circuit for that window fails.

Does silicone spray eat the window guides?

What is the best lubricant for window guides? I was thinking of using dri-glide or some graphite dust type lube so the guides don't whither away. If WD40 or 3 in 1 oil are bad I'd like to know that too.

i have the same problem on my 04 xls my back passenger window doesnt roll down. but the other 3 work fine
