OK - I tried searching to see if I could find the answer somewhere else in the forum, and didn't see anything obvious. So, I call upon the awesome collective knowledge of the forum.
My backup lights don't come on. I started by disassembling the tail lights and discovered both sockets were terribly corroded. So I bought a new one (just one for now) and installed it with a fresh bulb. Same thing.
They're on the same wiring harness as the breaks and running lights, which DO work, so at this point I'm thinking it must be a fuse (duh, should have checked for that first, right?). But that's not it, either. All fuses are intact and none are missing.
So, at this point the only other thing I can think of it the sensor in the transmission (M5OD manual). Trouble is, I have no idea where to look for that, or if there are other things that could be causing the problem?
