Bad ball-joints.......serious???

lower ball joints

my lower ball joint is busted. im having sqeeking, etc. What can cause this? is it possible that a loose center pin in the leaf pack could cause stress and break it? if someone could list some factors that would be great.

yeah get both lower and upper replaced NOW! dont bother with just doing one, one good set and a worn set will hurt alignment, steering etc...may as well replace both and not have to pay for the labor twice. unless you do t yourself

Can you elaborate a little? I don't think that a leaf pack problem would break a balljoint, but I have been wrong before. You aren't driving the car are you? Is the ball joint seperated, or just loose and squeaky? A seperated lower ball joint would be a little difficult, and a lot dangerous to drive on.

its just the boot that busted open. so i guess its just the lack of lubrication thats making the squeek.

Oh ok. I'd look into getting a new ball joint. The ball will wear down smaller than the socket, and it will seperate. Then you front will will suddenly look like this while driving / Not good.
