okay i have searched for anyone that has this prob and no luck. i bought a 94xlt 135k a few months ago and a couple of days ago i got coolant leak, better yet i have a fountian comming from the back of my motor. im a little bit broke right now and have 3 broke vehicles and dont have a manual yet. its coming from the back passenger in front of the trans dipstick. i work nights and the shop on base here is tempararly closed(go figure) so i cant see very well. what is back there that could produce a heavy stream? besides head gasket, its a little bit higher than that i think. please help.
thanks

just a lil update. if i hook up a hose in the radiator i can get it to gush out. is there a freeze plug here? i dont know how this could have gotton a hole in it since i live in florida? any suggestions?

Leaks on the back of the engine could be the lower manifold seal (red area on pic) or the head gasket. The freeze plugs run along the side of the block. (I assume 4.0 OHV)

Also on the firewall passenger side are the heater hoses.

its not on the block and its not the gasket. its a little bit higher. anyone have a picture of a brake down of the head. i have an idea of where it is i just need to find out whats there. trust me i dont need to pressure test it. i hook up a garden hose to it and i get a pure stream. the only thing is, i want to fix it with out taking apart 1/2 of the top end. and it dosent seem to be a hose(from what i can feel anyways). i appreciate your guys help. i know this sorta stuff has been addressed before but i couldnt find anything like my problem. im probably gonna tear into it on monday.
thanks agian

If it's such a big leak that you could get a stream pouring out of it, then it doesn't make sense that it's from the engine block (unless it has a major crack). Try to check everything with a strong light. It might just be a pin hole from a rubber hose (wishful thinking).

thats what im hoping for, but like i said i cant feel a hose. if it was a crack i wouldnt even notice. it would trickle out. this has gotta be a hole cause it pours out. its raining now so i wont get to it today. but i will let you guys know what is causing this. if anyone has a pic of the pass side back of head, either a real photo or out of a book would be appreciated.

thanks for the pics, thats what it might be.

Usually it's the Intake manifold gasket but it is usually the Drivers side Rear or the Passenger side Front.

Still very likely the Seal where Shamaal redlined

heater core hose fell off/broke maybe?
