Bad Ignition module?

Hey all,

So my ex won't rev past ~3500rpm. When it hits that point, it starts missing. It feels like a fuel or ignition cut-out.

Any ideas?

rev limiter?

On the later models there is a rev limiter when in Park or neutral. It's purpose may be to prevent harsh transmission engagement. I don't know what year the rev limiter was implemented but my 2000 Sport doesn't have it.
