I would appreciate any help with my following problem:
I was driving up the freeway the other day and my explorer (2000 sport, 4.0 OHV) started shaking and losing power as if it were only running on 4 or 5 cylinders. The check engine light began flashing and it lost a lot of power. I pullrd off and began examining.... I found that the egr sensor was melted (has two vacum lines running to the tube that the egr valve bolts to.) one of these vacume lines also had a hole melted into it. I replaced that egr valve sensor, and the egr valve, and the vacum lines connecting the two. Now it is better but not fixed. It seems to idle almost like normal, but under acceleration, or any load it is missing badly still. I have not ran the codes because the CEL still hasn't came back on(I guess i have not went throught the "drive cycle" yet.) It is also running very rich, I can smell raw gas when driving/idling. If anyone has had a similar experience I would appreciate your input.
